On 17th October, 2011 Agrokor d.d. submitted a non-binding bid in the public invitation to tender for the purchase of 52.1% of shares of Poslovni sistem Mercator d.d. ("Mercator"), run on behalf of a consortium of key shareholders (the "Consortium") by ING Bank.

Today a sales and purchase agreement (SPA) was signed in Zagreb between Agrokor and Grafičar, a Ludbreg-based public limited company, for the purchase of a 99% stake in Znanje.

The purpose of the joint project is the reforestation of burned areas of the island of Brač devastated in July this year, in order to assist the reconstruction and development of the forests of the island of Brač.
