AGROKOR AND THE RUĐER BOŠKOVIĆ INSTITUTE SIGNED THE CONTRACT ON CO-OPERATION

The Ruđer Bošković Institute, as the largest Croatian scientific and research institution, and the Agrokor Corporation, as one of the most successful Croatian companies, signed today the Umbrella Contract on Co-operation in Zagreb. In the presence of the top-level representatives from both sides the Contract was signed by the CEO of the Agrokor Corporation Mr Ivica Todorić and the Principal of the Ruđer Bošković Institute Prof. Dr. Mladen Žinić. The goal of this Contract is to initiate a direct co-operation on scientific and technological and scientific and development projects in all the areas of operation with mutual interest. The common wish of these distinguished Croatian brands - Agrokor in the field of economy and the Ruđer Bošković Institute in the field of science - is to integrate the Croatian academic and economic potentials and thus initiate a stronger and more active co-operation between Croatian public scientific and research institutions and successful Croatian companies on development of the domestic economy based on knowledge. According to this Contract the Ruđer Bošković Institute and Agrokor will professionally co-operate in testing and quality control of the food products and mutual consulting, which are important for development and improvement of production. Through their joint public appearances they will support spreading of proved and reliable information on scientific notions in the field of nutrition and strengthen the social impact of the professionalism as the most competent source of information. On this occasion Mr Ivica Todorić, CEO of the Agrokor Corporation said: "Our research teams continuously follow the world trends and the latest results and apply them in our operations. This co-operation with the experts from the Ruđer Bošković Institute will provide to their work a new dimension in their effort to create new values, new products or improvements in technologies, which will be recognised outside Croatia. Both sides, science and economy, will thus acquire an additional advantages over the coming competition. The Principal of the Ruđer Bošković Institute Prof. Dr. Žinić said that the Ruđer Bošković Institute has a rich academic knowledge and research experience in numerous scientific and technological fields. He also pointed out that "through such co-operation we wish to place this knowledge in the service of the Croatian economy."
