AGROKOR OPENS LARGEST SHOPPING AND DISTRIBUTION CENTER IN BH

The largest shopping and distribution center in BH under the VELPRO brand was opened today by Adnan Terzić, MSc, President of the Council of Ministers of BH and Ivica Todorić, President of the Agrokor Group, in the presence of numerous business partners and guests from the world of politics and economy. VELPRO, the first and largest cash&carry center, was opened on the premises of the distribution center Sarajevo acquired in late 2003 in a public tender in which Agrokor submitted the best offer for 51% of the company capital. In only five months since the acquisition approx. 30 mil. KM were invested in the Center, currently the largest cash&carry center in this part of Europe equipped with state-of-the-art technology. On a total area of 8,500 sqm, the VELPRO Center supplies its customers with an assortment of more than 17,000 food and non-food products. The Center is primarily intended to cater to professional customers who can do their one-stop daily or weekly shopping under exceptionally favourable conditions. By this investment Agrokor has once again confirmed to be one of the largest investors in the BH economy, the amount invested so far totals approx. 200 mil. KM, primarily into production. Agrokor's strategic objective is its regional expansion, oriented however towards strategic partnerships within the region. Therefore Agrokor has been focused on the presence of domestic BH manufacturers in this shopping center as well, realizing that a long-term success for companies on this market is only possible through mutual cooperation and partnerships The shopping center also comprises warehouse facilities for various purposes, and employs more than 400 people in total. "With the realization of this investment, important both for Agrokor and for Sarajevo, the introduction of state-of-the-art technologies and employment of new staff Agrokor's successful projects in BH have been carried on" said Ivica Todorić, President of the Agrokor Group at the opening, adding that Agrokor would continue to reinvest the profits generated in BH and invest fresh capital in new projects already in sight. On the occasion of the opening, Agrokor and VELPRO made a 20,000 KM donation to the Zehra Mujanović Maternity Hospital in Sarajevo. A cheque to this amount was taken over by Prof. Dr. Delagija Faruk on behalf of the Maternity Hospital.
