Jun 18, 2010
Agrokor has signed a Senior Facilities Agreement in the amount of EUR 352m with the world's leading banks. The syndicated loan has a maturity of 5 years with upstream guarantees provided by several Group companies. The proceeds of the loan will be used solely to refinance Agrokor's existing financial liabilities, resulting in an additional improvement of the Group's overall financial position while maintaining the same level of indebtedness. The banks participating in this facility are BNP Paribas, Zagrebačka banka d.d., Unicredit Bank Austria AG, Erste Group Bank AG, Privredna banka Zagreb d.d., Société Générale – Splitska banka d.d., Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich AG, Raiffeisenbank Austria d.d., OTP Bank, Commerzbank AG and Hypo Alpe-Adria- Bank. By signing this Agreement Agrokor has completed the restructuring of its balance sheet. In less than a year's time Agrokor managed to successfully refinance nearly EUR 1bn of its financial liabilities and achieved the desired level of long-term debt accounting for approximately 80 percent of the Group's overall financial liabilities. Agrokor has thus drawn abreast of the world's leading companies with yet another business parameter, the structure of its balance sheet. The success of this transaction as well as the overall refinancing exercise is even more significant in light of the currently unstable global financial markets. This proves to be another recognition of Agrokor's achievements and strategy that was timely adjusted to the newly arisen market circumstances. The trust the investors have placed in Agrokor is at the same time an acknowledgement to both the Croatian and the regional markets and economies. All recent business challenges have been perceived by Agrokor as an opportunity and motivation to maintain quality and increase the efficiency of its operations and it shall continue to implement such business policy and strategy with a view to creating new values for all stakeholders.
