Celebration of The 90th Anniversary of Foundation of Zvijezda

The 90th anniversary of the foundation of Zvijezda was celebrated in the headquarters of this company today. Besides the host Mr Mario Scherr, General Manager of Zvijezda and media representatives Mr Ivica Todorić, President of the Agrokor Group was present at the ceremony too. The master of the ceremony was Mr Oliver Mlakar and the gastronomic show with the meals prepared especially for this celebration was organised by Mrs Ana Ugarković and Mr Rene Bakalović. Zvijezda's 90th birthday was marked by the change of visual identity of Zvijezda's brands. The well-known Zvijezda products - oils, margarines and mayonnaise - were thus thrown on the market in a modern and re-designed packing. Development of new products is an important basis for further successful development of the company. Zvijezda has with great success launched a number of new products, which strongly support the corresponding brand. The market has thus seen a new oil Mediteran - a mixture of olive and sunflower oils and specific needs for functional food resulted in development of the new brand Omegol and Omega 3 has thus been introduced into the daily diet of Zvijezda consumers. The celebration of anniversary included a number of attractive prizes for the faithful Zvijezda consumers such as additional gratis packings. Zvijezda continues modernising its technology following the latest technological achievements aimed at improvement of quality and assortment. In accordance with the developing strategy of the company Zvijezda signed last week the Contract on modernisation of the refinery and a part of vegetable oil production worth more than 26 mil. HRK with one of the most renowned companies in this field. Zvijezda, as a socially responsible company and according to its policy of environmental protection is about to realise a large project of better cleansing of waste waters. Ninety years of successful business operations of Zvijezda continue this year too. In the first six months of 2006 Zvijezda sold the total of 34,400 t of products, which represents the increased sales by 7.7% compared to the same period in the last year. The total income has grown by 8.5% compared to the previous year.

During 2006 a special attention was paid to the exporting markets. The exports showed excellent results and a considerable growth compared to the previous year. The total quantity of 7,500 t of products have been exported, which is by 10% more than the last year. It has also penetrated into the new EU markets. Due to the high quality of its products, strong brands, efficient sales and distribution as well as marketing support Zvijezda has with all its product groups managed to keep the leading position on the domestic and regional markets.
