Oct 14, 2009
At the 6th annual exhibition of olive oil organized by AIPO (Associazione Interregionale Produttori Olivicoli) in the Italian town of Castello di Duino, Agrolaguna's extra virgin olive oil was awarded the gold medal. 150 producers from the Northern Adriatic part of Croatia took part in the exhibition. Samples of olive oil from about twenty Istrian producers were unveiled at the AIPO which is organized by the Agency for Rural Development of Istria Ltd and the county’s Department of Agriculture. Agrolaguna has 220 hectares of olive groves and produces 130 tons of extra virgin olive oil yearly. Also, other types of oils produced by Agrolaguna can be found on the market: Ascolana, Pendolino and Picholine. It should be pointed out that Agrolaguna’s extra virgin olive oil is ecologically made, the olives are not treated with any kind of chemicals and after processing the oil is not filtered which gives it a special and distinctive taste. Agrolaguna’s extra virgin olive oil has won a total of 20 awards this year (7 gold, 11 silver and 2 bronze medals) at all the important competitions in Croatia as well as in Italy.
