Corporate Social Responsibility confirmed in the category of large companies for 2011

Jamnica d.d. won the Index of Corporate Social Responsibility in the Republic of Croatia awardOn March 23, 2012, as part of 15th anniversary celebration of HRPSOR (Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development), Jamnica d.d. received recognition from the Croatian Chamber of Commerce for participation in a project aimed at implementing the questionnaire survey Index of Corporate Social Responsibility. Jamnica d.d. won the award in the category of large companies. The ceremony was held in the old town hall in Zagreb and attended by the Environmental and Nature Protection Minister Mirela Holy, PhD., Entrepreneurship and Crafts Minister Gordan Maras, Vice President of the Croatian Parliament, Milorad Batinić, and Special Advisor to the President of Croatia on current economic issues, Prof. Boris Cota, PhD.

The Index of Corporate Social Responsibility award is a joint initiative of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and the Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development, with technical and financial support of USAID, UNDP and the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb, with the aim to highlight Croatian companies that have applied corporate social responsibility across all important areas.

The Index of Corporate Social Responsibility, based on an online questionnaire sent to 1,500 companies, evaluates their performance in key areas of Corporate Social Responsibility, namely: economic sustainability and strategic orientation on corporate social responsibility, working environment, environmental protection, investment in the community and market relations.

Corporate Social Responsibility is a sustainable model of company management that encourages growth and development by taking into account not only economic, but also environmental and social impacts resulting from the activities of the company, during the planning process. Benefits for the company are numerous. By applying this model, the company can enhance relationships with various stakeholders, create loyal customers, reinforce brand value, improve reputation and attract the best employees.
