New gold medals for Podrumi Belje
Oct 23, 2009
Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from Podrumi Belje won gold medals at the International Wine Competition for Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in Bergamo.
After Belje’s Graševina and Chardonnay won numerous domestic and international gold medals this year, Podrumi Belje also achieved great success with their red wines. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, supreme vintage wines from Podrumi Belje, were awarded gold medals at the International Wine Competition for Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon which was held a few days ago in the Italian city of Bergamo. The International Wine Competition, “Emotions from the World: Merlot and Cabernet Together”, has been held for five years in a row and is the first competition that is solely focused on wines that are based on Merlot and Cabernet. Around two hundred samples from all over the world were rated by a 65 member jury. Some of the most eminent wine journalists in the world were also part of the panel of judges. The top marks achieved in Bergamo, as well as the current awards for Belje’s red wines received at the GAST, Slavin and the Novosadski fairs, confirm that Podrumi Belje is at the very top of the list of red wine producers in continental Croatia, and that both of these wines, with their traits and specificities, can satisfy even the most fastidious admirers of red wines.
