PIK Vrbovec participated at the 3rd international nutritionist congress that was held in Zagreb. PIK Vrbovec supported the congress and held the lecture titled “Integration of modern trends in the Croatian meat industry” in which an educational project “Less is more” highlighting customer care, was introduced to professional public.

“PIK Vrbovec is one of the first companies in the market, not only Croatian but in this part of Europe, that recognized the importance of educating customers about the product’s health values. According to this, PIK decided to move a step forward and inform its consumers that the products under PIK brands contain no taste enhancers, artificial colors, gluten or soybean, said Ines Bertinovec, Director of Development at PIK Vrbovec, while introducing the “Less is more” project at the congress.

With the “Less is more” project, PIK Vrbovec offered the market a complete assortment of PIK branded meat products without taste enhancers, artificial colors, gluten or soybean with the intention to bring only products of the highest quality to the customers table. Over 300 representatives of professional public participated at the congress - nutritionists, food technologists, doctors and pharmacists listened to the lecture with great interest because of recent discussions about the influence of consumption of processed or red meat to one’s health.

The 3rd international nutritionist congress was held under the high auspices of the President of Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, city of Zagreb and the Zagreb Mayor’s Office. The Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology of Zagreb University also supported the congress while it was organized by the Croatian Nutritionist Assembly Association, the Nutritionist Balance Association and the Croatian Academic Center for Applied Nutrition, alongside their international partner – the British Dietetic Association.
