Three more new playgrounds opened – in Vrbik, Gajnice and Špansko
Sep 07, 2007
The playground in Ivan Kukuljević Square in Špansko is the largest playground opened within the campaign Let’s Bring Playgrounds Back to Children
Starting from today, children in the Zagreb City Districts of Trnje, Podsused and Stenjevac have three more playgrounds to play in. Konzum retail chain and Zagreb City Government have donated, in cooperation with Zrinjevac Company and Regoč Company, to the City Districts of Vrbik, Gajnice and Špansko the thirteenth and fourteenth playground, thus bringing the joint campaign Let’s Bring Playgrounds Back to Children closer to its goal – seventeen playgrounds in seventeen City Districts echoing with children’s laughter.
The layout of each playground opened within the campaign Let’s Bring Playgrounds Back to Children is different on account of adjustments to the particular needs of children, residents and the surroundings. Thus, the newly opened playgrounds in Zeleni Trg Square in Vrbik, in 101st Brigade Park in Gajnice and in Ivan Kukuljević Square in Špansko meet the requirements of children aged 3 and upward and of children with special needs, and are arranged to encourage group play and help parents and children to spend free time together.
The City District of Stenjevec joined Konzum, the main investor, in the realisation and equipping of the new playground in Špansko, which is the largest and the most versatile playground opened in the campaign Let’s Bring Playgrounds Back to Children. In the next few days two more playgrounds will be opened in Ferenščica and Folnegovićevo Naselje.
