Vina Belje win another gold medal
Oct 26, 2012
The “Emozioni dal Mondo – Merlot e Cabernet Insieme” wine festival gathers each year more than two hundred wine producers from various countries in order to presenttheir wines to an international panel consisting of 74 judges. This festival is specific since only Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon wines and their blends are taken into consideration.
The expert panel includes producers, journalists and professionals from the entire world or, more specifically, from 30 countries and the selection process is special because it also relies on subjective impressions – emotions that wines cause with those tasting them. After a delicate and extensive selection process, Cabernet Sauvignon - Merlot Vina Belje won high acclaim and a gold medal, making it one of the most successful Croatian wines at the festival.
Marijan Knežević, chief enologist of Vina Belje said: “This wine combines the finest characteristics of both sorts. It has a ruby red color and a fruity scent of black berry fruits. The wine is harmonious and soft, with hard to notice but mature tannins, and a hint of wood. It is perfect when served with red meat, game, and ripe and intense cheese.”
