2014

Agrokor became majority owner of Mercator The Agrokor Group closed the process of acquiring the majority stake of Poslovni sistem Mercator and became its majority owner. The total value of the transaction amounts to EUR 544m.


Agrokor and Sberbank announced the signing of a €600 million syndicated loan at the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. The loan agreement was signed by President of the Executive Committee of the Sberbank Group and President of The Agrokor Group Ivica Todorić.


A second major action aimed at providing employment opportunities for youth and giving them a chance to gain work experience has been implemented and out of 16,500 applicants the first group of 265 employees was hired in March.


At the Mitrovac complex in Baranja a greenhouse for hydroponic production of vine tomatoes covering 4.5 ha was completed. That is the first greenhouse of its kind in Baranja and one of the biggest in Croatia. The investment is worth HRK 78 million and the construction was completed in a record time of only 6.5 months.

The Golubica Mall worth HRK 68 million was opened in Vukovar.


An Agreement to Acquire a Majority Stake in Mercator was signed with a consortium of sellers and a Business Cooperation Agreement was signed by and between Agrokor and Mercator.

Ledo successfully completes capital increase – the largest public offering transaction of ownership shares on the domestic primary capital market.


Vupik's new port facility for loading and unloading grains and oil crops at the Danube in Vukovar started its operations. Konzum opened another 5 Super Konzum stores: In Delnice, Nova Gradiška, Split, Karlovac and Našice. The investment value amounted to HRK 120 million in total, providing new jobs for more than 400 employees.

In Lipovac a new pallet storage for drying and storing vegetables with a capacity of 5 thousand tons was opened, covering 2,500 square meters. It comprises 6 state-of-the-art storage chambers. The total investment reached HRK 17.5 million.


In Gradec the first biogas facility was put into operation, leading the way to the production of electrical and heat energy from renewables in an environmentally friendly way. This HRK 170 million investment that also includes two farms resulted from the cooperation between Agrokor and the Slovenian company GH Holding.

Agrokor successfully refinanced existing short-term debts, thus improving its overall maturity profile by increasing the share of long-term facilities in its total debt to as much as 90%. The total debt level was not increased by this issue.

In Zagreb the Agreement on selling Agrokor's stake in the company Znanje d.o.o. was signed, whereby the company Grafičar d.d. became new owner of Znanje, with a 99 per cent ownership share.

Agrokor signed a €352 mil long-term syndicated loan agreement with the world's leading banks thus restructuring the balance sheet.


The biggest investment in 2010 was the establishment of logistics and distribution centre in Dugopolje near Split, which is the largest logistics centre in the region with a total area of over 80000 square meters.

Tisak, a leader in the distribution of daily newspapers, weeklies, monthlies and tobacco products, ended with the implementation of SAP in finance, sales, supply, storage and other business segments.

In June IFC committed €40 million in loan aimed at increasing the production of frozen vegetables and adding new ice cream production lines to the Frikom company in Serbia and increasing mineral water, frozen fruit and fresh fruit and vegetable production capacities in the company Nova Sloga, also in Serbia.

IFC approved a second €40 million loan to PIK Vrbovec and Belje, the companies acquired in 2005, as IFC’s second loan after approving a €40 million loan to the subsidiaries in July 2006.


Adjacent to the existing PIK Vrbovec industrial facilities the construction of a new meat processing plant covering an area of over 30,000 square meters was initiated. The facilities feature the latest technology for cutting, sorting and packing of fresh meat and new lines for the production of meat products.

The Agrokor Group and the EBRD signed an Equity Investment Agreement in the amount of €110 million, whereby the EBRD acquired an 8.33% stake in Agrokor.


Agrokor invested in reconstruction and modernization of PIK Vrbovec and Belje operations and revitalized the Sljeme brand, one of the oldest brands in meat industry, by including it into the production of PIK Vrbovec.

Ivica Todorić founds a private firm for the production of flowers and flower seedlings.


The first greenhouses for the flower production are built and a countrywide distribution network is established.


Although in a time not well-disposed toward private entrepreneurship, already in the first year of operation the firm developed significantly, employing more than fifty people.
