Konzum awarded the Golden basket for the best retailer of the year


mStart, PIK Vrbovec and Belje among the finalists

Konzum has received an award for the best retailer in Croatia for 2015 at the “Golden basket” ceremony organized by the Ja TRGOVAC magazine. The award was presented to Slavko Ledić, CEO of Konzum, who stated:

“The award for Retailer of the year is a reward for the dedicated work of all 14.000 Konzum employees and it best underlines all the successes and steps forward achieved in the previous year. From completing the integration process with Mercator all the way to the opening of our flagship store – Super Konzum Radnička and a new online shop Konzum klik, the entire previous year for Konzum was marked by working on advancing our business. What makes this even more special is fact that the award recipients are recognized by the people in the industry and that makes the award even bigger and more significant and I wish to thank the jury for recognizing our work and effort. The award for the best retailer in 2015 will serve as extra incentive for all of us in Konzum to continue in the same direction with innovation, modern retail standards and the best world practices that will enable us to achieve successful results and steps forward in this year as well.”

The Retailer of the year award is intended for retail companies in Croatia. Retailers who apply are supposed to show progress that they have achieved during the previous year with regards to expansion and business improvments, provide proof that strategies and business policies were successful, including financial indicators such as total sales, net profit and other business related numbers.

Alongside Konzum who received an award for the retailer of the year, mStart, PIK Vrbovec and Belje were among the three finalists in their categories.

The Golden basket is an award that is presented in six different categories (small retailer, socially responsible company, technological supplier, producer, product, retailer) by a magazine Ja TRGOVAC that specializes in retail and FMCG industry, to the best companies in the industry for the previous year. This recognition celebrates special company achievements and highlights the best and most successful examples of doing business.
