Investments up to HRK100.000 available to startups
At a Demo day of the eighth generation of Zagreb incubator of entrepreneurship (ZIP) startups that was held in Zagreb yesterday, Mate Krpan, CEO of mStart announced the expansion of current cooperation and a beginning of a new acceleration program.
“The Agrokor Group, within which mStart operates, has been cooperating continuously since its foundation with the academic community – with teachers as well as students who achieve top results and display entrepreneurial spirit – and encouraged with this we’ve decided to take another step forward. We are especially proud of our cooperation with ZIP, which has in the past three years managed to position itself as the best startup incubator in the region. This is the reason why we decided for an extra step in our cooperation this year by starting an acceleration program for startups. Big companies and startups have their advantages and challenges in developing their business and we believe that, through cooperation in our acceleration program, quality and significant synergy effects can be achieved. During the process it is important to consider entrepreneurship as a way of thinking and approach to projects and business in general.”
The new ZIP acceleration program will be held parallel to ZIP’s standard startup program, and is meant for companies that already have a product, a prototype or they are in the final product development stage, to enable them to dedicate resources entirely on project development, and it will also give them an opportunity to implement or test within Agrokor’s business system.
Each company that enters the program will receive an investment of HRK 100.000. The aim of this new acceleration program is to encourage a more effective product development and their launch. Upon completion or during the program, companies that successfully launch their service or product have an opportunity to enter a business cooperation with Agrokor Group companies or partners.
The new program will focus on companies from the following categories: e-commerce / mobile payments, tourism / events and retail / FMCG (fast moving consumer goods).
“A strong entrepreneurial spirit has always been a value that mStart encourages and supports daily. In this context, I invite all the companies that are past the incubation phase as part of an incubator or individually, to contact us and meet us. I believe that together we will find a best way to achieve cooperation and give chance to the best projects.” concluded Mate Krpan.
