New pig farm opened in Andrijaševci

The ceremony of opening a new PIK Vinkovci pig farm was held today.The ceremony was attended by many guests and the farm was opened by Mr Božo Galić, prefect of the Vukovar-Syrmia County,and Mr Ivica Todorić, President of the Agrokor Group.

New pig farm opened in AndrijaševciThe process of developing pig-farm production which Agrokor commenced by opening the nucleus farm Brod Pustara, the piglet production farm in Malo Kneževo and the pig fattening farm in Kozarac was today continued by opening the piglet production farm in Andrijaševci. The Andrijaševci 2 farm is the first newly built farm for production of piglets at PIK Vinkovci, while a new pig farm in Čeretinci is under construction. The capacity of the Andrijaševci 2 farm includes 1400 sows with an annual production of 33 000 piglets for fattening. Keeping up with the latest achievements in pig farming, the Andrijaševci 2 farm is equipped with the most up-to-date production technology, and special attention has been given to ecological standards, also evidenced by two closed manure tanks of 9000 m3 total capacity. Technological solutions are compatible with all requirements under the Law on Animal Protection, the Regulations on conditions to be satisfied by farms and those for protection of animals on farms.

New pig farm opened in AndrijaševciInvestments in buildings, infrastructure and latest equipment amount to HRK 40 million and the farm is fully tailored to meet modern ecological requirements and regulations of ISO and GLOBAL GAP standards. The biological safety measures and conditions of animal health on the Andrijaševci 2 farm are on the highest level possible, enabling top global results and contributing to quality control in preservation of the environment. With today’s opening of the Andrijaševci 2 farm, Agrokor’s annual production of pigs has increased by 33 000 home-produced pigs for fattening, representing another step forward in reducing the need for imports of pork.
