Vinceška celebrated in vineyards of Wine Cellars Belje
St. Vincent's Day, the holiday of the patron of wine-growers, was traditionally celebrated on January 22 at the peak of Banovo brda in Belje vineyards. In line with old folk customs, Belje vineyards were decorated with sausages and poured with wine to generate even better results in 2009. The celebration included this-years first pruning carried out by Mr Goran Pajnić, CEO at Belje and Mr Baldo Matić, the Director of Wine Cellars Belje with the blessing of the parish priest from Kneževi Vinogradi. Last winegrowing season was very successful for the Belje Wine Cellars. Goldberg golden selection of Graschevina, Chardonnay and the late harvest of Graschevina were introduced to the market. At the end of the year, two supreme red wines Merlot and Cabernet sauvignon were introduced for the firs time. In addition to numerous awards for quality, last season will be marked by the late harvest of Graschevina and Chardonnay. Celebration of this year’s St Vincent’s Day was attended by many distinguished guests.
